Misc

-As I wrote before, I am meditating these days. I try to do it at least 15 min per day. I just close my eyes pay attention to my breath or scan my body. I try just pay attention to the moment and my breath or inner body, whenever my mind flies toward a thought I try to catch it and bring it’s attention back to the moment. It is hard but I keep trying and I feel that I have become calmer and I let go of useless thoughts even when I am not meditating during day. Most of the time when I think about something negative or useless I remember to let it go and tell myself that I should not waste my energy on that thought. It is a hard practice but very helpful. Most of the time, when I get exhausted because of the kids, husband or other routine stuff and become angry I remember that I should let go of that angry thought which is really necessary for me!! I hope I can continue like this and it becomes my habit. We human beings become excited about something new
and peruse it for a while but later on give it up and go back to our norm. I hope this is a deep practice for me and I need to remind myself every day to follow it.

-There is lots of different news these days from killing Bin Laden (which is still covered in Media) to IMF chief sex scandal. It is very weird world. Evil never ends and due to big media coverage, satellites, social networks and Internet we all hear about all these things almost as soon as they happen. I was happy that they finally found Bin Laden, although there are lots of different theories about the whole thing but at least there is one less evil person in this world. I hope at least some of his followers realize that his way was not really the right way to fight any thing and anybody or any injustice that they believe in. They have to know that he was using them to satisfy his own evil wills. He could use his wealth to educate his followers to become doctors, engineers, scientists and they educate more people and in this way help people in poor countries to become stronger and gain their rights and stand up for themselves. Terrors and wars are
never solution to any problem!

-I saw a good movie last week, Limitless. It was interesting, one of those movies that make you think about it for couple of days. At least I found it interesting.

-I just finished reading les Miserable’s originally written in French and translated to English as The Miserable one. The Farsi Translation is Binavayan. I saw the movie in Iran translated to Farsi and also have seen the Cartoon, translated to Farsi as well When I was a kid, but I never got chance to read the book. Last year when I was in Iran I bought whole bunch of books, I found an old set of The miserable ones or Binavayan and bought it right away. I started reading it couple of months ago and finally finished it. It is a good book. I enjoyed it a lot and while I read I would remember the cartoon characters and tried to match it with the book characters. It is nice to read old novels sometimes. It let us realize how much world has changed and lots of these changes may be are good for us, especially in democratic countries.
