Vacation

We start our vacation on this coming Saturday. We go to France first then hopefully Spain, Italy and finally Norway, we may go to Denmark with my Aunt and uncle too.
I am getting excited, my only worry is the climate in France I check the weather forecast and it will be rainy some days next week in Paris. That would be hard with the little one to walk in the rain and do sight seeing!! I already have explained to him about our vacation and told him that he is going to fly with airplane, he seems to be very excited!!

We will be in Europe for 3 weeks, I hope every thing goes well and we don’t lose our suitcases or we don’t get sick!! I have not been in Europe since 1996, I am sure lots of things have changed there like anywhere else.

I used to go to French class in Iran and my French was OK, but since I moved to US I have lost my practice, but I have been trying to review my French notes in last couple of weeks, I hope I can at least talk a little! French people don’t like to talk in other languages!!

I will miss my blog! I will try to write few lines whenever I can have access to Internet.
Wish me luck!!

Life style

I feel so tired these days. The reason is I worked till the last day in my pervious job and started my current job right a way. New jobs and transitions always are a long with stress and I have been working very hard for the last three months. I cannot believe that it is already 3 months that I am working here! I really need the vacation now and I am looking forward to it, it?s just one week a way. I hope it goes all well.

We watched the new movie of Jim Carey couple of nights a go, ?Fun with Dick and Jane?, like all the Jim Carey movies it was funny, although I think he is sometimes too funny!! Any way the movie was a bout a couple that both lose their jobs and all the trouble they go through. It is scary if a couple both lose job! Especially here in US, lots of people live on debts, every thing is on loan, no body except very small group of people own their houses, cars, etc. I remember in Iran, if people had house or car majority of them they actually own it withought any payment or loan! But here you must be Millioner or multi millioner to own every thing withought any finances and loan. The system makes people just live on debt, most of the people live on their credit cards, they use it and they cannot pay it off at the end of the month and they end up paying so much interest to Credit card companies. We are always very careful with credit card; We spend as much as we can pay off at the end of the month. But I can tell you that at least %80 of Americans are always on heavy credit card debts! And most of American don?t even have savings, they live pay check to pay check so if they become unfortunate to lose job, they are really in trouble! I believe that this system can help you to have your ideal comfortable life but put you in lots of danger too. If you are not careful and go over limit you can easily lose what ever you gained!
Any way I told my husband how many months we can survive if we both loose jobs and have zero income, the answer was 6 months (tightly of course)! Which is not bad for here! My husband believes that it won?t happen, and at least one of us would have job, especially because we both work for government and our jobs are safer than others! But I said what if the economy situation becomes like 1930?s, then we both can lose jobs, the conclusions was worst case scenario we can go back to Iran, but if US does really bad economically I think the whole world will do bad too!
Any way the moral of the story was being careful with our life style and try to always have savings!!

Fluid Like A River

A friend sent me this piece to me and I liked to share it with every one:

The journey of water as it flows upon the earth can be a mirror of our own paths through life. Water begins its residence on earth as it falls from the sky or melts from ice and streams down a mountain into a tributary or stream. In the same way, we come into the world and begin our lives on earth. Like a river that flows within the confines of its banks, we are born with certain defining characteristics that govern our identity. We are born in a specific time and place, within a specific family, and with certain gifts and challenges. Within these parameters, we move through life, encountering many twists, turns, and obstacles along the way just as a river flows.Water is a great teacher that shows us how to move through the world with grace, ease, determination, and humility. When a river breaks at a waterfall, it gains energy and moves on, as we encounter our own waterfalls, we may fall hard but we always keep moving on. Water can inspire us to not become rigid with fear or cling to what's familiar. Water is brave and does not waste time clinging to its past, but flows onward without looking back. At the same time, when there is a hole to be filled, water does not run away from it in fear of the dark; instead, water humbly and bravely fills the empty space. In the same way, we can face the dark moments of our life rather than run away from them. Eventually, a river will empty into the sea. Water does not hold back from joining with a larger body, nor does it fear a loss of identity or control. It gracefully and humbly tumbles into the vastness by contributing its energy and merging without resistance. Each time we move beyond our individual egos to become part of something bigger, we can try our best to follow the lead of the river.

Friendship

Today I was invited by my ex-coworkers/friends for lunch to celebrate my coming birthday on Saturday. That was so sweet of them. They gave me a very lovely card too.
It feels so great to know that there are very kind friends who care so much for you.
I really enjoy their company. I am so grateful to be surrounded by so many good people in my life. Even my virtual friends are nice and kind people too. I can tell that through their blogs. I think having true friends is real treasure in life and I worship that a lot.
