Obama became president!

-Obama became the president of United States officially today. I was at work so I could not watch the inauguration ceremony live but I recorded the whole ceremony and watched it partly on Internet. He has such a tough job a head of him, the toughest job ever may be but I truly wish him luck. His success will impact the whole world for sure.
Destiny is an amazing thing, when he was born from a black African father and white mother in Hawaii, no one would imagine that he will be the president of US someday! As Napoleon said: Some people are born to make history” that is indeed true. I think Obama is one of them!
His speech was excellent and his humbleness is really respectful.

-There have been lots of changes for me at work recently since last week. I mentioned here that I finished first phase of an important project which was originally started by another co-worker of my team but since the lead team who started this project were not happy with some bugs and interface they asked me to change, enhance and finally finish it. I was not comfortable doing that from the beginning because I don’t like to take over somebody else’s job while he is here and can do it. Morally I think it is not right but my boss said since this project has been ordered by our CIO and now he wants you to work on it just do whatever they ask you. I successfully finished it in a very short time and they were so happy. I already had been assigned to the big new project for the same team but I was supposed to stay in my team and just help them out for new project but when they saw my work, they asked CIO to move me from my team to their team!! Which I was not really happy about, I like my first team and especially my boss who is Iranian too but I could not argue about that because that is the CIO’s decision and in this job market and economy it is not very wise to argue and complain that much. Any way from last Friday I belong to another team and they have made me the lead developer of the new huge project which will start next week. It is a good opportunity for me but at the same time scary because it is too much responsibility. Sometimes it is good to work just behind the scene and not under the spotlights! They have got a big budget for this project and in this economy we are responsible to have a very useful product otherwise the whole money is wasted and it is not good for our division at all. It will be lots of pressure on me! I thought about this a lot and I think I have to try my best and use this opportunity to grow in my career. It will be a tough work but not tougher than Obama’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish me luck!

New Year and new resolution!

-First of all, I wish everyone a very great New Year. It seems that the whole world needs more peace and prosperity this year more than any other year!
-I am very sad about what is happening in Gaza these days. I wish there would be no war what so ever in the world!
-We had an OK New Year’s eve, we went to a family Friend’s party, I barely knew anybody, just knew the host and one of our common friends.
-I watched a very good movie that I highly recommend it, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons”. It was such an interesting deep movie, it sure deserves several Oscars.
-My biggest resolution for this year is to be more patient with my older son (he sometimes drives me crazy!!) and try to help him to behave better. He is a good and smart kid but his listening is bad and sometimes he acts out too much. I have been trying every psychological techniques with him sometimes work, sometimes not But I think we ( I and my husband) both need to be calm and at the same time firm with him, saying it is easy but in action it is not that easy!
