Girls out night!

Last Saturday was my friends’s Birthday. The Friend that I know since we were in fifth grade in Iran, and I have written about her here. She and other friends of her wanted to celebrate the Birthday party at a club in Newport Beach area and that would be just ladies!! Since I have been very exhausted by kids, house work, Professional work, husband, Mom and etc. I decided to go and have some fun. This was my first time in my almost 9 years of marriage that I would go out at night with a group of friends without my husband. My another good friend that we know each other for a long time too and is married was coming so I was very encouraged to go. We were about 10 women and just 3 of us were married the rest were either divorced or never married and all above 35 years old. It was a fun night but I and my other married friend figured out at the end of the night that we would not want to be single!! I myself feel that I have passed that stage and I don’t want to go back to it! I think it is fun to be single when you are in your 2o’s but after certain age which can be different for everyone and it really depends on the person being single is not as much fun as lots of people think!
I am very happy that I went that night because it has been a while that I have been tired and exhausted of playing role of mother, wife, daughter a professional woman all at the same time and I have been thinking recently that it would be fun if I were single , be on my own and would go out party and enjoy my life, now with going to that Birthday celebration I could sense how lost the single friends were and how they all wanted to hook up with someone and some of them even looked desperate to me. My friend herself have just broken up with another boy friend recently, this was may be the fifth serious guy in her life after her divorce and it seems this cycle is going on in her life, meets someone gets serious, have fun in the beginning but after few months or in some cases a year there are lots of conflicts and everything ends. I myself cannot live like that for sure!!
It seems day by day people get more lost in their lives and don’t know what they are really looking for! And that is sad, that’s why there are lots of divorces, alcohol, drug usage and dysfunctional families in all societies these days. People are not real any more; they don’t know what they want and what their priorities are!!

Obama Won!!!!

Yes! Obama won!!
I was so excited and at the same time worried yesterday. Although I knew in my heart that he would win but I was scared that things would change at the end. I was following up news all the time yesterday and when CNN reporter announced that Obama is the elected president I cried like lots of Americans. He well deserves it and it proved to me that this country is indeed a unique country and everything is possible in this land of opportunity. This was a great lesson for the whole world and showed people can step over racism, prejudice etc and make the right choice. When John McCain congratulated Obama and wished him luck and said “you are my president now” I was so impressed and that showed me the dept of democracy in this country. This is so valuable. People are united and everyone is back to normal life including democrats, republicans and independents. The thing that matters now is the plans that president follows and efforts that he will make to get things done.
I got chilled several times yesterday during the news announcements and one of the chills was when they were showing Kenya and how they were celebrating. Tomorrow they have a national holiday to celebrate this victory for a man that has roots in their country!
Another shivering moment was Obama’s speech and when he pointed that the 106 years black old lady from Atlanta voted. She remembered the days that black did not even have the rights to vote and now people were voting for a black person.
Congratulations to everyone who wanted Obama to win!
Good luck to him and good luck to the whole world!!!!!!!!
