Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

-Tomorrow is Christmas and majority of people are celebrating it here in US. For some reason I feel it more than every year and I pray for all the families to be able to provide at least minimum joy for their kids. I tried to help a little bit more than previous years. I was thinking to donate some money or food to the food bank the other day (that is an organization that provides food to poor people and I heard in news that they have provided several times more food to poor people this year than every other year) but got caught up in other things and postponed to later but yesterday I got an email from Micelle Obama ( I am in the email list of Democratic party and also Obama Campaign. Most probably these emails are not written directly by President or First lady, their team sends them out for them) that was asking to donate to food bank and had written the link to donations in the email too. I thought now that First lady asked me to donate, I have to donate. It is so interesting that they are in touch with people like that. I don’t think other presidents, First ladies or their teams would send emails to their supports! This is another amazing thing about Obama. Right before the election speech I had an email from Obama, Thanking me to be his supporter! I know that he sent a generic email to all the supporters that was signed up to his campaign but that is a great idea to send emails like that under his name. I receive emails from his team almost every week with new updates about his plan and Cabinet. I think he is really different from other presidents that US has had so far!

-I finished the first phase of my important project yesterday and it was demonstrated to our CIO (Chief Information Officer). He loved it. He stopped at my desk and gave me a box of candy and thanked me for he good job! I was speechless! I did not expect him to bring me candy and thanking me in person! I hope other phases go well and I stay in his good list!

-The highlights of 2008 for me are as follows:
1-Having my beautiful baby
2-Obama got elected
3-Still having job!
4-Feel more grown up and mature! I have learned to forgive more and let go more!

Merry Christmas and I wish every one a wonderful new year full of helth, peace and prosperity.

Christmas Lights

-It is Christmas time again. This year we decided to decorate outside of the house with lights and bought a big Plastic Santa with Christmas three to put it on the lawn. My husband went crazy with lights and we have so much lights flashing at night. The funny thing is none of us are Christians but we sure like Christmas a lot and we wanted our son to enjoy it. He loves it and every night he goes outside and watches the lights for few minutes. I have to put a picture of the house with lights at night here! His little brother is growing fast too. He stands up, crawls and I think he will walk pretty soon. He is just sooo Cute!
-I am assigned to a very big important project. A little bit scary though! It makes me very busy these days but if we can accomplish it we will be the first Law enforcement agency in the country that has done such a thing. I hope it will be a success!
I wish whoever that celebrates Christmas a very happy and nice Christmas time!

Bad economy

Economy in US is very bad. I know that it is bad almost everywhere in the world these days, but people say that it has never been this bad since depression time (1930’s) in US. Just in November 533,000 people lost their jobs. Social benefits for unemployed are minimum here and most of people lose their health insurance as soon as they lose their jobs. The self employed people who have their own business are doing really bad too. My brother has his own business and it is very bad for him too. He is going through another divorce as well. When he was marring this woman every one told him that she just wants to get green card and use him but he did not listen and now his wife left him after using him the most. I know that is his fault and he acted so irresponsible and has spent too much money for her but how some people are that ruthless, they come and use someone and right at the time that they see there is no money left they leave too. She was Russian and Russian women have no good reputation here just my brother was too naive! I don’t want to say all Russian women are like that but we have heard lot of bad examples of them here and in Europe. Any way I feel so sorry for my brother and all the people that are losing their jobs, home etc these days. I and my husband both have government job and we are safe for now but even our jobs can be at risk if it goes by like this until next year!
On Friday afternoon when I was going back home from work, I was listening to the radio and they were interviewing people that have lost their jobs recently, I felt so sad for them. Especially in this time of year it is so hard to be unemployed and having kids who are looking forward to Christmas. For the first time in my life I wish I were god and I would eliminate poverty, sickness, war, injustice in the world and would make every one healthy and happy!
